Great day circumnavigating St. John with Captain Ryan. Snorkeled on the south shore where the water was calmer, with a late lunch at Lime Out and then cruised back to the Westin along the north shore. The snorkeling at the reffs near Salt Pond was really nice and we git a close up view of a pretty big nurse shark there. Very relaxing and chill day and Ryan did a great job making sure that our ladies were well taken care of. Highly recommend.
Skip the Group Charter and Book Island Roots--Best Part of Our Vacation!

This was the best part of our vacation! This was my second time on an Island Roots Charter and both times completely different and amazing experiences! If you are on the fence book this trip! This small, family business is worth supporting! Ryan was our captain for the day and he did a great job showing us St. John from the water. He took us to snorkeling spots that in my 7 trips to St. John I had not been. This is a great charter where you are in charge! Ryan took us to the places we wanted to go and we were never rushed at any of our stops! Our group was couples, but I would recommend this for anybody! Kids, families, adults, fun for all ages! I am confident that they would deliver a great experience for any interests! We will definitely be booking through them for our next island adventure. If you are debating on a group charter or this private charter, skip the group charter and explore the island on your own time with Island Roots!

Seeing the islands from the water is such a unique perspective. You will not be disappointed. We went out with Captain Lance and he had the perfect itinerary planned based on what I had told him. We made a bunch of stops and each stop had a little something different to offer. We went cliff jumping, snorkeling with turtles, saw plenty of fish and a couple of nurse sharks and we explored some caves. It was a busy but relaxing day. Make sure to bring plenty of sunscreen as the Caribbean sun reflecting off the water is strong. My family (5 kids ranging from age 15 up to 22) lived every second of it and would highly recommend Island Roots.
Customized Adventure

This company delivered an entire day customized to our interests. The captain asked all of us what we are interested in seeing/doing and planned our day accordingly. We avoided other boats, encountered a variety of sealife underwater, learned about the islands, and more. Our group included a wide range of ages, allowing for entire families to enjoy a fun, safe, unique, and educational day together. The boat and gear are in excellent and clean condition and the captain is engaging, friendly, and professional. If you want a day to relax, explore, and enjoy the islands, this is the perfect choice.

Iâm a charter boat Capt in Florida. This was a terrific charter with a great Captain (thanks Ryan). He knew a lot about the history of St John, came up with a great itinerary for our group aboard a great boat, the 32 Worldcat. We will use Island Roots again and recommend them to all!
