We had a fantastic day sail with Bonnie, Rosie and their faithful dogs on Tipitina. Bonnie is a skillful captain who knows how to take her beautiful sloop through its paces. She took us to a lovely beach for swimming and snorkeling. Snacks and drinks were perfect. Highly recommend!
Best day of our vacation

Our visit was to celebrate my husband's birthday, and I wanted to do something special for him. This was our third stay on St John, and our third charter. I had been following Sailing Tipitina for a while on Facebook and thought how wonderful it would be to go sailing this time, since neither of us had done this previously, and because the Tipitina is so beautiful. As other reviewers have mentioned, Bonnie and Matt are so welcoming and truly care about making sure you enjoy your time with them. They are also very safety conscious, checking the current to ensure you’re not swimming against it, and reassuring you along the way so you’re not surprised by anything. We visited a few different snorkel sites, and Matt guided us to the areas he knew we’d see turtles, octopus, manta rays, and eels, in addition to the many types of beautiful fish. Luckily, he also took photos and video so we could capture some of the key moments. I felt completely comfortable in his and Bonnie’s capable hands. It’s like they can’t wait to share with you all that they’ve seen and know about in the area. It’s obvious that they love what they do! After snorkeling, we had a delicious lunch and some rum punch, which definitely packed a punch. My husband was able to try his hand at sailing, and we were lucky to have a nice wind that moved us along. He said he checked off a bucket list item that he didn’t even know he had! The day ended all too quickly, and we turned back to Cruz Bay, having made some new friends that we can’t wait to see again soon. Oh, and Pearl and Oyster are every bit as lovely, mellow and wonderful as they seem in their numerous pictures. If you’re looking for a day out with people who are eager to help you discover the underwater magic that they have, book a sailing trip with Bonnie and Matt on Sailing Tipitina. You will never forget it!
Wonderful sailing, snorkeling and hosts

We enjoyed our 3-hour sail and snorkel on Monday so much that we booked again for Wednesday! Bonnie and Matt are the kind of people that instantly make you feel like you are among friends. Pearl and Oyster are also happy to share their home with you and accept some affection. The boat sails beautifully as well, making an impressive upwind tack between rocks and island with no need to start the engine

I wish I could give 6 stars!!! Beautiful boat and Matt and Bonnie were wonderful - so easy going and really took care to take to sites we would enjoy. Wonderful hosts who clearly know the area and sailing - as they live on the boat with their 2 amazingly mellow and well behaved dogs. We (2 couples) had such a great time we booked a second trip with them which, if possible, was even better than the first! Absolutely the best 2 days of our trip! Don't miss!!!

A group of 5 of us spent a wonderful day aboard Tipitina w/ Matt, Bonnie and their 2 awesome dogs Pearl and Oyster. The trip is very personal, catered to what you want to do and the pace you want to do it at.
We sailed, grabbed the helm for awhile, snorkeled in a few spots that we'd never been which was nice and was fed an outstanding lunch Bonnie created for us.
Both Bonnie and Matt are extremely personable which added to the overall trip.

We had a great time! Bonnie and Matt and their dogs Pearl and Oyster are friendly and helpful and knowledgeable about St John. They helped our 4 year old feel comfortable having her first reef experience. We had a great time and we’ll look for them next time we are in St John.
An Amazing Day of Sailing on Tipitina

Our family of 4 had a fabulous day with Matt, Bonnie, Pearl & Oyster sailing Tipitina around St. John. The sail was the highlight of our trip with amazing snorkeling (with Bonnie's videos and photos to treasure), some lounging on the deck (with Pearl and Oyster and cocktails) and soaking up the sun and beautiful sights. We highly recommend the day sail so you can fully enjoy their hospitability. Thanks Matt & Bonnie

It was truly a great experience definitely shows you the softer more peaceful side of life beautiful boat !!!!Awesome and very informative sunset sail , it was my first sail but definitely wont be my last ! Great host !
